Funeral services for Norma Irene Aubin, 89, of
Anacoco, La., will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville with Rev. William “Bill” Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral
Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 7, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home, with a Rosary being recited at 12:30 p.m.
Norma, the daughter of
Robert and Irene Buquet McHardy, was born Oct. 4, 1925, in North Baton Rouge, LA. Mrs. Aubin passed from this life on Monday, Aug. 3, 2015, at Cabrini Hospital surrounded by her family and friends.
Norma was a resident of the Sabine
Retirement and Rehab center for the seven months, prior to that she lived in Anacoco. She was a member of the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Leesville. Norma was an active member of the Senior Center Group in Anacoco and especially enjoyed her
quilting group. She attended a ladies bible study group at Toledo Bend Baptist Church where she grew in the word of God and fellowshipped with a wonderful group of ladies. Norma was a wonderful seamstress and loved to cook. Many memories were made in
her kitchen. Everyone loved their Sunday lunches with “Mo Mo”.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; her parents, Robert and Irene McHardy and her sister, Ruth Dutreix.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann (husband,
Jack) Toney of Anacoco, sons, Larry (wife, Debbie) Aubin and of Pasadena, TX, Bob (wife, Barbara) Aubin and of Cypress, TX and Allen Aubin of Many, LA; her loving brother-in-law, Joseph Dutreix of Lake Charles; six grandchildren, Gaylon Toney &
wife Wanda, Kelley Moore & husband Richard, Jeremy Aubin & wife, Stacey, Chad Aubin & wife, Laurie, Holly Ellis & husband, Mark and Kimberly Edward & husband, Chris; great grandchildren, Kacie Toney, Jordan Toney, Brandon Toney,
Cole Moore, Dalton Moore, Garrett Aubin, Olivia Aubin, Cory Aubin, Zoe Aubin, Duke Ellis, Natalie Edward and Zack Edward; nephew, Harry Dutreix of Kingwood, TX and niece, Judi Welch of Lake Charles, La.
The family would like to thank the
staff of Sabine Retirement and Rehab center and the doctors and nurses at Cabrini Hospital for the care and kindness they gave our dear mother.
