Funeral services for Matthew Fletcher were held on
Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Sandy Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Sandy Guynn and Rev. Keith Bateman officiating. Burial followed in Beauregard Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Visitation was held on Monday,
July 20, 2015 at 3 p.m. at Sandy Hill Baptist Church.
Mr. Matthew Fletcher was born on Sept. 6, 1968, in Corona, Calif., to Jerry and Pat Cooley Fletcher and passed away on July 18, 2015 at the age of 46. He grew up in the Pickering
community and was a 1988 graduate of Pickering High School. He loved working with children and volunteering at Pickering Elementary School. He was an avid computer operator. Matthew was a former camper and counselor at the Louisiana Lions Camp. Also,
he was a volunteer CASA worker. He met and married his love, Marilyn, on March 22, 2003. He was a member of Sandy Hill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruby and Wallace Fletcher.
He was survived by
his wife, Marilyn of Pickering, La., parents: Pat and Jerry Fletcher of Pickering, La., sisters: Tina Baxter and husband Brad of Baytown, Texas, Gina Linaweaver and husband Terry of Baytown, Texas, step-daughter: Alisha Lambright of DeRidder, La.,
nieces: Tabitha Clevenger, Shanna Burgeson, Sarah Minks, Savannah Baxter, Donna Auter, nephew: Dustin Baxter, Michael Linaweaver and wife Camila,
great nieces and nephews: Madison Mitchell, Chloe Stanley, Harlie Martin, Christian
Linaweaver, Liam Auter, Kayla Clevenger, Destini Clevenger, Aaron Clevenger, Cayden Minks, Hailey Stanley, John Burgeson, and Kaydence Burgeson, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
