Funeral services for Tommie Lea Davis, 79, of
Leesville will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8 at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville with Rev. Roderick Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Cooper Cemetery in Pickering under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of
Leesville.
Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. and then Monday, Dec. 8 from 8 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
Tommie, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Brooks Hughes, was born Nov. 11, 1935 in
Leander. She passed away Friday, Dec. 5 in Rosepine.
She was a lifelong resident of Vernon Parish. She was a former member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Leesville where she taught Sunday School. She was a member of the New Life
Outreach Pentecostal Church. Tommie sold real estate for many many years in the Leesville area. Back in the day she loved to hunt and fish and her therapy was shopping and buying jewelry.
She was preceded in death by her first husband,
Vernon Davis; her parents; daughter, Debra Carolyn Lawrence; and a brother, Francis M. Hughes.
She is survived by her husband of eight years, Winston A. Erwing of New Llano; son, Glen Dale (wife, Anita) Davis of Leesville and six
stepchildren; brother, Frank (wife, Katrina) Hughes of Leesville; and sister, Earline (husband, Don) of Sulphur; grandchildren, Kim and Rodney Taylor, Shonda and Brian Berzins, Jo Jo and Denisha Lawrence, Scotty and Lori Lawrence, Keith and Amanda
Schott, Dale Davis and Joseph and Shelby Davis; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren.
