Funeral services for George A. “Pete” Martin, 85,
of Anacoco will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7 at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville with Rev. Wade Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery in Anacoco under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of
Leesville.
Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 7 from noon until service time in the funeral home.
Pete, the son of Charles Roy and Maggie McInnis Martin, was born March 13, 1929 in Anacoco. He passed away at his residence in
Anacoco on Thursday, Dec. 4.
Pete was a lifelong residence of Vernon Parish and was a welder by trade, retiring from the State of Louisiana. He was a member of the Cold Springs Baptist Church in Anacoco.
He was preceded in
death by his wife, Mattie Mae Martin; his parents; and three brothers, “Shorty”, “Biddy” and “Chub”.
He is survived by his son, Gary (wife, Barbara McCullough) Martin of Anacoco; and sister, Louise Strickland of Anacoco.
