Services for Charles Steele Simmons, Jr. will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15 in the Galilee Baptist Church in Evans.
Visitation will be the same day beginning at 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in the
Evans Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Steele was born in Houston, Texas to Charles Steele Simmons, Sr. and Deborah Bedoya. He passed away at his residence at the age of 43.
He was a brickmason and
lived in Evans for most of his life. He loved music and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Joshua Morgan Simmons; father, Charles Steele Simmons, Sr.; stepfather, Jimmie Ray Forbito;
grandparents, Frank and Wilma Simmons; grandmothers, Nina Brennan and Dora Craft; and grandparents, Ivan and Virginia Tennis.
He is survived by his mother and stepdad, Deborah and Lewia Tennis, Woodlandhill, California; brother, James
Arthur Forbito, Whitter, California; sisters, Samatha Jon’ Forbito of Bakersfield, California, Tracie LaPlante of Lake Elsinore, California and Sunshine Crick of Lake Elsinore, California; uncles, Jim Williams of Evans, Frank Simmons of Gulfport,
Mississippi and Dennis (Jina) Whitcomb of Salt Lake City, Utah; aunt, Dot Simmons of Evans; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
