Kyle Patrick Tilley, 26, left this world for his
eternal heavenly home on Oct. 25, 2014. Taken far too soon from us, he leaves as a legacy an imprint of how to love one another unconditionally. His family’s only consolation is the knowledge of Kyle’s confessed faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He was
everything good in the world.
Kyle’s passion for swimming began as a child at his neighborhood swim team “Wellington Sharks”. Entering high school, he swam for both the Flower Mound High School and Lakeside Aquatic Swim Team. Upon
graduation in 2006, he began competing with the Ouachita Baptist University Tiger Sharks in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
After graduation, he became the graduate assistant coach and continued sharing his passion and encouraging these swimmers.
He has been an assistant coach for Thunder Water Polo Team and spent many recent summers as Head Coach for the Bridlewood Torpedoes Swim Team. He leaves a void at Lakeside Aquatic Center, where his love of and passion for swimming was shared with
many kids over the span of many years. His continuous praise of those he coached was always evident and will remain a part of history in this community.
In addition, he was a substitute teacher at FMHS, touching many lives with his
infectious smile and servant spirit.
Kyle is survived by his parents, Larry and Dona Tilley of Flower Mound, Texas; sisters, Nicki Tilley of Flower Mound, Texas; Hope (Tilley) Kuhlow and nieces Suzette and McKenzie Kuhlow, and nephew
Garrett Kuhlow, all from Anacoco; his maternal grandparents, Don and Mary Owens of Redondo Beach, California; aunts and uncles, Carol and Bill Gusey of Long Beach, California, Pete and Chris Tilley of Frisco, Texas, Patricia Tilley, Mike and Cassie
Tilley, and Gary Tilley and Cheryl Martin, all from Anacoco; beloved cousins, Adrianne Smith, Brittany Merritt, Trey Tilley, Jennifer Hansen, Scotty Tilley, Suzette Crittenden, Lacey Hasbrook, Shanna McInnis Druckemiller and Robin McInnis.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Henry Olin and LaVelle Tilley, formerly of Anacoco.
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers and support in many heartfelt forms; far too many to name. We
wish to extend our deepest appreciation and love to our special extended families whom have rallied and provided more than we could have ever imagined or deserved: Rick and Lil Gilbert and family, Tina Murphy, Nancy and John Boldt, Jill Brown, Steve
and Amy Bullard and family, Nate and Lori Love and family, Wilber and Karen Gregory and Paul and Kathy Kidzus. And Nick Bass, our hearts are forever bound by this, and we know Kyle’s memories will bless you in ministry all the days of your
life.
Wellington, Bridlewood, FMHs, and LAC have set up a scholarship funds in Kyle Tilley’s name. The goal is to raise funds to establish a perpetual scholarship to benefit each year a deserving FMHS swimmer. We are asking those who were
a part of Kyle’s life through his swimming to consider donating to this fund.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 30 from 7-9 p.m. at Flower Mound Family Funeral Home in Flower Mound, Texas. The service will be on Friday, Oct. 31
at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Lewisville, Texas with interment to follow at Flower Mound Cemetery.
