William Jackson

William Jackson, 73, of New Llano passed away Oct.
2 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria with loving family by his side.
He was born Aug. 23, 1941, in Pocahontas, Virginia to the late William and Louise Jackson. Willie, as he was called by his family and friends, was a
retired Army veteran after 22 years of service, which included two tours of duty in Vietnam.
After retiring, he worked for the city of Leesville as Municipal Golf Course Manager until he retired from that job. He was then employed with
Cubic Corporation at Fort Polk.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Christopher Jackson.
Those left to treasure his memory include his devoted wife of almost fifty years, Lucy Jackson of New Llano; two
sons, Stuart Jackson of New Llano and Adam Jackson and Stephanie of San Diego, California; four brothers, Charles Fitzgerald and Rita of Greensboro, North Carolina, Cornelius Jackson and Gloria of Abilene, Texas, Robert Jackson and Jessie of
DeRidder, Taylor Jackson and Donna of Crumpler, West Virginia; one sister, Christiane Nelson and Rodney of Lebanon, Virginia; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and many friends.
Graveside services will be
held on Friday, Oct. 10 at 2 p.m. at the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville with Rev. Mike Jackson officiating.
Family will receive friends on Friday, Oct. 10 from 12-1:30 p.m. at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in
Leesville.
