Della Mae Thompson

Graveside services for Della Mae Self Thompson will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 10 a.m. at Beech Grove Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Della Mae Self Thompson died in Las Vegas,
Nevada on Sept. 30 at the age of 102.
Della is survived by her daughter Lula Anne Thompson of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandson Lester Randolph Beason, Jr. and his wife Debra of Fresno California; great-grandson Thomas Robert Beason of Fresno,
California; and nephews Vernon Eugene Pringle of Plano, Texas and Robert Perry Pringle of Shreveport.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Milton Thompson of Anacoco; brother, Robert Dewitt Self, Jr. of Bryan, Texas; and
sisters Margaret Dove and Inez Pringle of Shreveport.
Della was born on Oct. 13, 1911 in Anacoco to Robert Dewitt Self and Loudie Anna Ferguson. She was a graduate of Highlands Hospital with a diploma in nursing. She married MSgt. Raymond
Milton Thompson in 1936 and they lived in several locations during his career in the Air Force, where she worked as a nurse.
In later years they lived in Carlsbad, New Mexico and finally settled in Anacoco. After the death of her husband,
Della moved to Shreveport and finally moved to Las Vegas to be with her daughter, Lula Anne.
