Funeral services for Lannice R. “LR” Sanders, 80,
of Hornbeck will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hornbeck. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Saturday, Oct.
4 at 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home and on Sunday, Oct. 5 from 1 p.m. until time of service at the church.
Lannice, the son of Canaan and Elma Jett Sanders, was born June 16, 1934 in Hornbeck. He passed away on Thursday, Oct. 2 in
Alexandria.
LR loved hunting, fishing and family gatherings. He was an avid domino player.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Canaan and Elma Sanders; his children’s mother, Ava Novella Sanders; and one brother, Bennie
Sanders.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Frances Sanders of Hornbeck; son, Michael R. Sanders and wife Edna of Leesville; daughters, Susan Dowden and husband Roy of Hornbeck and Pamela Sharbeno and husband Ronnie of Hornbeck;
stepsons, Chris Steinebach and wife Melanie of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jeff Steinebach and wife Cara of Traverse City, Michigan, and Tim Steinebach and wife Chrisse of Kingsley, Michigan; brother, Larry Sanders and wife Wanda of Vidor, Texas; sisters,
Donis Chance of Vidor, Texas and Verna Mae Ford of Hornbeck; sister-in-law, Betty Joe Sanders of Hornbeck; sixteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
