Funeral services for John Foster, Jr. will be held
on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, located at 808 Anacoco St. in Leesville with Dr. Carl Armstead officiating. Burial will follow in the Hawthorn Cemetery under the care of Jeane’s Funeral Service of Leesville.
Visitation will be Saturday, Oct. 4 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until service time.
John, was born on Oct. 8, 1944 in Leesville to John, Sr. and Charlie Mae Wilson Foster and passed away on Friday, Sept. 26 at Fort Polk
at the age of 69 years, 11 months and 18 days.
He was a lifelong resident of Leesville and was a graduate of Vernon High School. He worked for several years offshore, but came home and worked for the Vernon Parish School board until his
retirement in 2007.
After retirement, he worked for Cubic at Fort Polk until his death. He was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Leesville, a avid WWE wresting and sports fan, but most of all, a loving husband, father,
grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Charlie Mae Wilson Foster and John Foster Sr. and his daughter, Angela Foster.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Ann
Holden Foster of Leesville; a daughter, Anetra Foster of Killeen, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Andre and Teynell Foster of New Llano; grandchildren, Arnikiquea Foster, Shanessy Foster, Darius Foster and Aaliyah Cooper, all of Leesville; brother,
Marvin Foster of Leesville; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other family.
