Funeral services for Virginia Carroll, 71, of Pitkin will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Pitkin with Pastor Steve Wilkins officiating.
Burial will follow at the Blue Branch Cemetery
under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 19 from 5-9 p.m. and on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Virginia, the daughter of Huey
Adolph and Arlie Lee Brister Bond, was born on May 21, 1943 in Pitkin. She passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 17 in Alexandria.
Mrs. Carroll loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and gardening. She was an amazing cook.
She was
preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Shelvia Carroll; brother, Edwin Bond and sister, Marlene Buxton.
She is survived by her daughter, Shonda and husband Keith Parker of Calhoun; brother, Ansley Bond and wife Barbara of DeRidder;
sisters, Arlene Moore and husband Homer of Anacoco, Sharon Walters and husband Don of Livingston, Texas and Nona Hildreth and husband Larry of Wichita Falls, Texas; grandchildren, Zachary Parker and wife Samantha, Emily Southerland and husband
Johnathan, Eryn Parker, Ellie Parker, Zeb Parker, Sam Parker and Simon Parker; one great-granddaughter on the way and a host of beloved nieces, nephews and dear friends.
