Connie Wilson Cryer

Funeral services for Connie Wilson Cryer, 84, of
Leesville, will be held at 10 a.m. on Dec. 20 at Labby Memorial Funeral Home, with Rev. Danny Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Cooper Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation was
held from 5:30-8 p.m. on Dec. 19, and will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services on Dec. 20 in the funeral home.
Connie, the daughter of Paul and Essie Smith Mithcham, was born March 18, 1929 in Merryville. She passed away Dec.
17, 2013 in Rosepine.
Mrs. Cryer worked for Pickering High School as a dietitian and also retired as a dietitian from the Louisiana State School. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and volunteered at Helping Hands. She loved
working with her genealogy group; but most of all, she loved her family and spending time with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Charles Wilson, Jr.; second husband, J.P. Cryer; grandson, Steven Christopher
Haymon; sons-in-law, Vernie Midkiff and Joseph Richardson; and brothers, Milton Mitcham and Donald Smith.
She is survived by her son, Gary R. and Mary Wilson of Leesville; special son, Donald H. Smith of Lafayette; daughters, Wanda and
Bobby Whitton of Leesville, Margie Kunkel of Leesville, Carolyn Midkiff of Leesville, Sandra Richardson of Leesville, and Paula and Alex McMillan of Leesville; brother, Rev. Walter and Myrtle Shelton of Leesville; sister, Peggy Weir of Copperas Cove,
Texas; grandchildren, Bryan Whitton, Jocelyn Phillips, Rebecca Hicks, Tina Duncan, Crystal Rhame, Brett Haymon, Tyler McMillan and Harleigh McMillan; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
