Ezra Danzy

Funeral services for Ezra Danzy, 88, of Simpson
will be held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 8 at Comrade Baptist Church in Simpson, with Rev. Dwayne Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Mora, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation
was held from 5-9 p.m. on Dec. 7, and from noon until the time of services on Dec. 8 in the church.
Ezra, the son of Mack and Lonie Danzy, was born Dec. 16, 1924, in Mora. He passed away Dec. 3, 2013 at his residence in Simpson.
Ezra was a lifelong residence of the Simpson/Hutton area. He retired from the U.S. Government Civil Service as a dietitian. He served in the U.S. Army and was a World War II Veteran. He loved animals, having raised cattle and then goats. He
would always raise a garden that would give him plenty to give away.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Lambright Danzy; parents, Mack and Lonie Danzy; sisters, Agnes Norsworthy, Pearl Kile, Gertrude Gilcrease, and Joy Danzy;
brothers, L.W. Danzy and Roy Danzy; and grandson, William Mack Danzy.
Ezra is survived by his son, Roger and Joan Danzy of Pineville; daughter, Carolyn and Tom Steinfeldt of Appleton, Wis.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and
three great-great-grandchildren.
