Funeral services for Bennie Sanders, 82, of
Hornbeck, will be held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 26 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hornbeck, with Rev. John Norway officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. on Nov. 25 until the time of services on Nov. 26 at the church.
Bennie, the son of Canaan and Elma Jett Sanders, was born Oct. 25, 1931, in Hornbeck. He passed away Nov. 23, 2013, at his residence
in Hornbeck.
Mr. Sanders retired as a mechanic from Omstead in Beaumont, Texas; he also worked as a role play supervisor with Cubic. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Bennie loved gardening and was an avid deer hunter. He was a
loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Sanders of Hornbeck; sons, Darrell Sanders and wife, Colleen of Deer Park, Texas, Terry Lambright and wife Annette of Vidor, Texas,
Larry Lambright of Crystal Beach, Texas, and Michael Lambright of Vidor, Texas; daughters, Tina McKissic and husband David of Garland, Texas, Glenda Philman and husband Ray of Vidor, Texas, and Donna Felton and husband Michael of Hornbeck; brothers,
Larry Sanders and wife Wanda of Vidor, Texas, and Lannice Sanders and wife Fran of Hornbeck; sisters, Donnis Chance of Vidor, Texas, and Verna Mae Ford of Hornbeck; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren.
