Funeral services for Benjamin “Junior” Allbritton,
81, of Leesville were held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 23 at the Laurel Hill Baptist Church with Revs. Dale Poe and Shawn Waggoner officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of
Leesville.
Visitation was held from 5 p.m. on Nov. 22 until the time of services on Nov. 23 in the church.
Benjamin, the son of Benjamin Franklin Allbritton, Sr., and Mamie Myrtle Spurgeon Allbritton, was born Dec. 27, 1931, in
Leander. He passed away Nov. 21, 2013, in Alexandria.
Junior was a lifelong resident of Vernon Parish and former business owner. He served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He loved to be outside, especially in his
garden. He was a very loving and caring man always putting his family first. He loved to share his stories about “the good ole days,” especially to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father,
sister and two brothers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Doris Jean Merchant Allbritton of Leesville; son, George Allbritton of Leesville; daughters, Jeanette Gordy and husband Robert of Leesville, Linda Golemon and husband,
CW of Glenmora, and Pam Stunkard and husband Greg of Leesville; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
