Greta,
the daughter of Walter James and Paula Grace Paterson Kitko, was born July 28, 1959, in Columbus, Pa. She passed away Nov. 20, 2013 at her residence in Anacoco.
Greta was a U S Army Veteran; she worked for 18 years for the Department of
Defense as a Federal Police Officer, and she was a Provost Marshall for the Director of Emergency Services. She was extremely active in the Disabled American Veterans Association and she was currently the Commander for the State Disabled American
Veterans Auxiliary.
Greta had several passions, including going to the beach, going crabbing down south, gardening (her roses were her pride and joy) but more than all that, she was a substitute teacher for the Anacoco schools for a number
of years. It was there that she found her greatest satisfaction in life, “Oh how she loved the children!”
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Ed Kalk; sons, Cameron Dallas Kalk of Lake Charles, and Paterson James Kalk of Anacoco;
daughter, Arianna Kathleen Kalk of Lake Charles; father, James “Opa” Kitko of Curwensville, Pa.; brothers, James Kitko of Curwensville, Pa. and Cameron Kitko of Curwensville, Pa.; and sister Rachel Kitko of Texas.
