Funeral services for Willie “Wilmer” Dixon, 70, of
Anacoco, will be held at 3 p.m. on Sept. 29 at the First United Pentecostal Church in Anacoco, with Revs. Shannon Buxton and Louis Magee officiating. Burial will follow in Self Cemetery in Hornbeck, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home
of Leesville.
Visitation was held from 5 p.m. on Sept. 28 until the time of services on Sept. 29 at the church.
Willie, the son of Elmer Lee and Georgia Trapp Dixon, was born March 11, 1943. He passed away Sept. 27, 2013 at
Grace Home in Alexandria.
Willie began his career in law enforcement with the Leesville City Police following his graduation from Anacoco High School in 1962. He then retired from the Louisiana State Police with the rank of lieutenant
after 23 years of service. He served as the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department Liaison to Fort Polk for 22 years. Willie was a Mason and member of Orange Lodge 319.
Willie is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ellen Perry Dixon; son, Stacy
Dixon and wife Rhonda of Anacoco; three grandchildren, Mitchell Dixon, Morgan Dixon and their mother, Janice Dixon, and Scottie Biscamp and his wife Chelsea; sisters-in-law, Ann Perry and Ida Cryer, both of Sieper, and Angie Dixon of Anacoco. He was
preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wayne Dixon.
