Funeral services for Pearl Ethel Walker, 94, of
Leesville, will be held at 10 a.m. on Aug. 14 at the First United Pentecostal Church in Leesville. Burial will follow in the Oak Forest Cemetery (Kurthwood Road), under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville. Revs. Mark Christian,
John Burns and Marvin Poole will officiate.
Visitation was held from 6-9 p.m. on Aug. 13, and will continue from 9 a.m. until the time of services on Aug. 14 at the church.
Mrs. Walker and her husband are remembered as
managers of the Continental Trailways Bus Depot for many years.
Ethel, the daughter of Misserniah and Eddie Sparks, was born Jan. 9, 1919 in Provencal. She passed away on Aug. 11, 2013 at Cabrini-Grace Hospice in Alexandria.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 60 years, Joseph Walker; daughter, Myrtle Ann Freeman; granddaughter, Deborah Birdsong; sister, Fay Sanderson; and brothers, James, Paul and Reuben Sparks.
Mrs. Walker is survived
by her daughters and their husbands, Margie and Larry Campbell of Frierson, and Wanda and Ralph Liliedahl of Rosepine; sister, Syble Parker of Shreveport; grandchildren, April Ann Lockett, Rachael Fendley, Angela Poole and Bryan Walker Alston; nine
great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
