Loyce Elizabeth Jeane Johnson was born May 12, 1921, in Neame, and was called home July 25, 2013. Services will be held at Cooper Baptist Church officiated by Hixson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 3-9 p.m. on July 29. The
funeral will be held at 3 p.m. on July 30, with burial following at the Cooper Cemetery.
She lived 92 long wonderful years in Vernon Parish. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Mitchell Johnson, whom she was married to for 49
years. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Mauda Jeane; two brothers, Linwood and Jimmy Jeane; three sisters, Aline Fletcher, Louise and Bennie Jeane; and an infant granddaughter, Kathryn Jean Johnson. She is survived by her
sister, Bonnie Daughtery of Morgan City; six children, including son, DeWayne Johnson and wife Judy of Leesville, Doris Rhyder and husband Jack of Pennsylvania, Dennie Johnson and wife Carol of Oklahoma, Dorothy Jantzen and husband Les of Wisconsin,
David Johnson of Texas, and Dewey Johnson of Leesville.
She was a grandmother of 17 grandchildren, great-grandmother to 39 and great-great-grandmother to six.
She was a lifelong resident of Vernon Parish, a lifelong member of
Cooper Baptist Church and a graduate of Pickering High School. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking. Her best dish was chicken and dumplings. She enjoyed spending time with all of her family and friends. She was loved by many and had a
huge impact on everyone she encountered. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
