Funeral services for Samuel “Sammy” Johnson, 77,
of Leesville, will be held at noon on July 13 at the St. Paul Baptist Church in Leesville with Rev. Lawrence Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Leesville Memorial, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until service time on July 13 in the church.
Sammy, the son of Levi Johnson and Mary Wallace Johnson was born on Aug. 23, 1935 in Bastrop. He departed this life on July 5, 2013, after a lengthy
illness at Rosepine Retirement and Rehabilitation Center in Rosepine.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Johnson; father, Levi Johnson; sister, Inez Wallace, Polly, and Molly; and brothers, Junior Page, John Wallace and
J.V.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, David Johnson, Billy Johnson, Samuel Johnson II, and Samuel Johnson III; daughters, Nancy Brown, Sandra Lawton, Lula-bell Blakely, Addie P. Johnson, Carolyn Y. Johnson, Daphine Rene Schuler,
and Toy Johnson; and a host of sisters, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
