Funeral services for Shyriel S. Grimes, 50, of
Simpson will be held at 2 p.m. on June 30 at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville with Rev. James Herrington officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Forest Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of
Leesville.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on June 29, and will continue from 9 a.m. until the time of services on June 30 in the chapel.
Shyriel, the daughter of Vernon and Dorothy Doyle Brown, was born July 4,
1962, in Kinder. She passed away June 28, 2013, in Alexandria.
Shyriel graduated from Leesville High School. She worked as a beautician. Mrs. Grimes loved ceramics, people and children.
She is survived by her husband of 34
years, Douglas Grimes of Simpson; brothers, Dale Brown of Arkansas, Dennis Brown of Leesville, and Anthony Doyle of Thibodeaux; sister, Norma Jean Brooks of Leesville; and a host of aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
