Douglas Ashworth

Douglas (M.C.) Ashworth, 70, of Rosepine, went home to be with the Lord on
June 24, 2013. He was born April 25, 1943 in Cravens. M.C. was a lifelong resident of Rosepine, where he left his legacy.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lutherine Ashworth of Rosepine; and daughters, Kathy Beebe and husband Reid
of Lena, Gina Jackson and husband Gary of Rosepine, and Shana McCallon and husband Jody of Rosepine. He left behind four sisters; Rachel Watson of DeRidder, Marie Stewart of DeRidder, Lester Boudreaux of DeRidder and Juanita Lewis of Huntsville,
Texas; brother, Audrey Ashworth and wife Jessica of Anacoco; 10 grandkids, 10 great-grandkids and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in his homecoming by his mother, Hazel Ashworth; father, Frank Ashworth; brothers, Ruben, JT and Edward
Ashworth and sister, Dorothy Cooper. The family would like to thank Rosepine Retirement Center and Hospice for their care and kindness.
Visitation began at 5 p.m. on June 25 and continued until the time of services on June 26 at Providence
Baptist Church in Rosepine.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on June 26 at Providence Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Providence Cemetery. Bros. Jeff James and Arlen Smith will officiate.
Funeral services are
under the direction of Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
