Sidney J. “S.J.” Chance, Jr., a 57 year resident of Vidor, passed away June
10, 2013. He was born Aug. 21, 1925 in Plainview Community. S.J. was a World War II Navy veteran, proudly serving his country aboard the USS Suwannee aircraft carrier. He was a retired supervisor with NL Shafer.
S.J. is survived by his
son, Glenn Chance and wife Rebecca; daughter Debra Holmes and husband Garland; granddaughters Shanna Burke and husband Todd and Renee Reed; and grandsons Jesse Carter and Chris Reed.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on June 12 at Hixson
Funeral Home in Hixson Funeral Home in Leesville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on June 13, with burial at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Hornbeck.
