Clayton L. Rector

Funeral services for Clayton, L. Rector, 83, of Leesville will be held at 2
p.m. on June 11 at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville, with Revs. Wayne Chance and David Reddout officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Bethel Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. on June 10 in the funeral home, then from 8 a.m. until the time of services on June 11 in the chapel.
Clayton, son of Wesley W. and Maudie Dowden Rector, was born Sept. 29, 1929 in Shreveport. He
passed away June 9, 2013 at his residence in Leesville.
Clayton served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired as an equipment specialist. He worked as a deputy for 16 years for the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office. Clayton
was a true cattleman and horseman, and was a former member of the L.R.C.A. Clayton had a love for restoring old cars. His prized “toys” were his 1926 T-Model and 1930 A-Model.
Clayton is survived by his wife of 56 years, Reta Self Rector;
sons, Clayton Wallace and wife Kathryn Rector, and Dennis Ray Rector and Angie Sterling of Leesville, and Rhonda Kay and husband Hiram Copado of White Oak, Texas; brother, Jerome Rector of DeRidder; grandchildren, Jana Kay and husband Zenaido Duque,
and Gary Raydale and wife Liz Rector of Leesville; and great-grandchildren, Domingo Duque and Daniel Duque.
