George Andrew Lankford

Funeral services for George Andrew Lankford, 68, of New Llano will be held
at 2 p.m. on April 15 at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville. Burial will follow in the Glass Window Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
on April 14, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 15 in the chapel.
George, the son of William Delmer and Mildred Helen Fowle Lankford, was born Sept. 27, 1944, in Boston. He passed away April 12, 2013 in DeRidder.
Mr. Lankford
was a veteran of the Army. He was a member of the Orange Chapter 224 Order of the Eastern Star and the Old Anacoco Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed going to the casino and spending time with family. He loved his dogs.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, William and Mildred Lankford and in-laws, Wayne and Olene Sigler.
Mr. Lankford is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lelia Lankford of New Llano; daughters, Mildred McNamara and husband William of Leesville, and Sherry Lankford
of New Llano; grandchildren, Malachi Wayne McNamara and Branden Alexandria McNamara, both of Leesville, and Nikita Leterice Baxtor of Leesville; brother, William “Billy” Delmer Lankford, Jr., of Boston; sisters, Helen Pyser of Boston; sister-in-law,
Beverly Thigpin and Rodney of Morgan City; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Matthew, and the DeRidder Retirement and Rehab Center.
