Siphronia “Fronie” Opal Robinson Jeane was born on July 21, 1922 in
Glenmora to Ben and Altha Padgett Robinson, and was raised in Hineston. A product of the Great Depression, she worked in cotton fields and helped take care of her siblings. She grew up in a singing family and sang alto at home and at Lone Star
Baptist Church. She later met and married David Ernest Jeane, the love of her life. They moved to Slagle, where she raised her family. Music was a major part of their family as they sang all across central Louisiana. Siphronia was a longtime member
of Flactor Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She loved to cook and decorate wedding cakes. Everyone loved her nurturing spirit and contagious laugh.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Ernest Jeane;
son, Jerel Jeane; son-in-law, Ed Owers, infant granddaughter; parents; four brothers and one sister.
Survivors are her daughter, Wanda Owers of Slagle; four sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Janet Jeane of Slagle, Glen and Nelda Jeane
of Pineville, Jerry and Pam Jeane of Anacoco, and Gary and Nancy Jeane of McDonough, Ga.; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
