Angel Negron Sr.

It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. Angel Negron Sr. announces his passing, at Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder. He was born in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico. Mr. Negron retired SFC from the United States Army. He served
in the Korean and the Vietnam Wars. He was awarded two Purple Hearts, Veteran’s Honor Medal, and the Korean War Service Medal. He was a life member of the VFW and a member of the Americian Legion. Mr. Negron went to school at Webster and Northwestern
State University and had two masters degrees. He was a professor of Spanish at Northwestern State University – Fort Polk for 18 years, He was a member of the Roman Catholic Faith and also a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4 degree. He was also a
recruiter for the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Angel and Maria Negron.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elvia Negron of Leesville; and four sons, Carlos Negron of Argentina, Raul A. Negron of
Mt.Holly, N.J., Guillermo R. Negron of Leesville, and Angel Negron Jr. of New Llano. He is also survied by one brother, three sisters, 12 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, along with a host of other family and friends.
Services for Mr. Negron were held at 1 p.m. on Feb. 14 at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, with Father Clemente Mauricio serving as celebrant. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Feb. 13 in the Chapel of Heritage-Rowe Funeral Home, with a Vigil
service starting at 7 p.m.
Burial will be in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery of Leesville.
