Memorial services for Leroy Wayne Oram, 85, of New Llano will be held at 1
p.m. on Dec. 13 at Labby Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmie Dace officiating. Burial will follow in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Leroy, the son of Samuel
Aaron and Ruby Irene Butler Oram, was born March 31, 1927 in Fredonia, Kan. He passed away on Dec. 9, 2012 in Leesville.
Mr. Oram was a retired first sergeant in the Army, having served in World War II, Korea and in Vietnam. He was a
member of the VFW and American Legion; he was also a member and formerly the Lieutenant Governor of the Optimist Club. Leroy managed Catfish Junction for several years, and also owned Oram’s Texaco and LOGO Sales. He loved to stay up to date on
current electronics, and loved life and lived it the fullest.
Leroy is survived by his wife of 48 years, Geneva Oram of New Llano; sons, Jimmie Ray Dace and wife Doris of Pocahontas, Mo. and Ralph Dace of Leesville; daughters, Mary Ann and
husband Gene Center of Sullivan, Mo., Linda Sue Canoy of Leesville, Billie Joyce Witt of Sullivan, Mo., Diana May and husband David Richards of Rittman, Ohio, Judy Kay and husband Paul Hartung of Warrenton, Mo. and Beverly Daniel of New Llano;
sister, Helen and husband Les Barker of Jefferson, Texas; 16 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
