Mr. Robert E. Michalk, 84 of Anacoco departed this life on Oct. 8, 2012.
Services celebrating his life will be held at 1 p.m. on Oct. 12 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 127 Saffire Lane (off U.S. 171) in Leesville, with Bishop Gregory Funderburk, and Stake President Dwight Epperson officiating.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery Leesville under the direction of Heritage Rowe Funeral Home.
Mr. Michalk is preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Farnsworth Michalk; a son, Robert Bruce Michalk and three
granddaughters.
Those left to cherish his memory include a son, Jeffrey S. Michalk (Janis); daughters, Patricia Michalk Hamby (Frank), Barbara Michalk Walls, Heather Michalk Warner (Gilbert), Tammy Michalk Shisler (Allen), Lorri Michalk
Doucet, Penny Michalk Johnson (Terry); sisters, Isabel Kennedy, Beverly McCown and Billie Rowe. Also are 29 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and sister in laws, Ruth McKinley and Dorothy Farnsworth.
Mr. Michalk was a bricklayer in his career. He loved making things with his hands, wood working and fixing almost anything he came across broken. He also liked to take his grandchildren fishing.
Friends may visit the family from 2-9
p.m. on Oct. 11 at Heritage Rowe Funeral Home in Leesville.
