Judy Poston, 85, passed away on Sept. 10, 2012 at Sabine Retirement and
Rehabilitation Center in Many following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 12 at Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many with Rev. Wayne Chance and Rev. Jack Bell officiating. Interment will follow at Prewitt’s Chapel
Cemetery in Hornbeck. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Sept. 11 at Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many.
Judy was born on Feb. 19, 1927 in Leesville to the late Joyce Mae McCollough and James David (Dave) McCollough. She was a
graduate of Hornbeck High School and an LPN graduate of Sabine Valley Vo-Tech School in Many. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hornbeck since 1957 and was a long time member of Order of Eastern Star, Mount Carmel Chapter, in Florien. She
was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Judy’s faith and devotion to family and friends allowed her to live every day with optimism and without regret. She always had a smile and had a unique ability to make others feel loved and
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Joyce McCollough; stepmother, Melmo Cabra McCollough; and husband, Sen. Bryan A. Poston, Sr.
She is survived by her four children, Bryan A. Poston, Jr. and wife
Jonell, Larry Poston and wife Una, David Poston and wife Sandra and Marjorie Sullivan and husband Sidney; 10 grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
The family is grateful for the
excellent and loving care given over the years by the staff of Sabine Retirement and Rehabilitation in Many and a special thanks to Dr. Jack Corley for his gracious care.
Pallbearers will be Al Poston, Brad Poston, Steve Poston, Sidney W.
Sullivan, Mark Davis and Jack Sanders.
