Reathel Bailey Poe

Services for Reathel Bailey Poe were held at noon on Aug. 26 at the Lacamp
Pentecostal Church in Lacamp with The Rev. Johnny H. Sanders officiating. Interment followed at the Lacamp Pentecostal Cemetery. Derryl Stapler, Jerry Dominy, Ryan McNeel, Brandon McNeel, Cody Nelson, Steven Burgess, Matthew Smith, and Butch Parody
served as pallbearers.
Ms. Poe went to be with the Lord on Aug. 23, 2012 in Houston. One of 12 children born to Henry Doc and Mary (Perkins) Bailey, she was born on Dec. 5, 1920 in Cravens. She was 91 years of age.
Ms. Poe
married the love her life, Howard Cecil Poe, on Nov. 30, 1974. They enjoyed 38 years of marriage and, together, they raised a wonderful family. Ms. Poe was a homemaker. In her later years, she enjoyed participating in the Senior Olympics and won
numerous medals in riflery, archery, and other activities. Above all, she loved the Lord and was very active in her church throughout the years.
Ms. Poe is preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law, Clem and Prener Poe; her
husband of 38 years, Howard Cecil Poe; 10 of her siblings; seven brothers/sisters-in-law; and a grandson, Dale Howard Nelson.
Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Leval Lindsey and husband W. C., Levern Nelson and husband
Junior, and Teri Lynn Reed and husband Kevin; eight grandchildren, Kathleen Carol Haikey and husband Philip, Derryl Wayne Stapler, Sheila Ann Flournoy and Jerry Dominy, David Howard Nelson, Yvonne Carol Lindsey, Tabatha Darlene Milstead, Amanda
Sherre Reed, and Heather Dawn Reed; 11 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Harley Bailey and wife Mildred; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Poe Parady. Many nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends also
survive.
Arrangements were entrusted to Waller-Thornton Funeral Home of Trinity.
