Funeral services for D.L. “Pete” Owens, 77, of Leesville will be held at 10 a.m. on Aug. 17 at Labby Memorial Funeral Home with Bros. J.B. Yielding and Dale Mortensen officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Hill Cemetery, under the
direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. on Aug. 16 and from 8 a.m. until the time of service on Aug. 17 at the funeral home.
Pete, the son of Almon Joe and Nancy Ida Bolton
Owens was born on Oct. 1, 1934, in Slagle. He passed away on Aug. 13 in Alexandria.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Freddie Owens and sisters, Verda Walker, Vivian Ruth Gilcrease and Geraldine Mann.
He is
survived by his wife of 56 years, Dona F. Haymon Owens of Leesville; sons, Danny Ray Owens and wife, Wanda of Slagle, and Dale Owens and wife Leah of San Antonio, Texas; daughters, Diane Lord of Slagle and Deborah F. Setliff of Slagle; brothers, Glen
Owens of Leesville and Ronnie Owens of Alexandria; sisters, Shirley Rose Boligner of Alexandria and Nola Faye “Polly” Owens of Leesville; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
