Clarence Henry Welch

Funeral services for Clarence Henry “Tut” Welch, 95, of Anacoco will be
held at 1 p.m. on June 16 at Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Sherman Busby and Rev. Stephen Shebs officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery in Anacoco, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. on June 15 at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
Clarence, the son of Henry and Jane Donhue Welch, was born May 13, 1917, in Vernon Parish. He passed away
on June 12, 2012, in Leesville.
Mr. Welch surrendered to ministry on April 13, 1952 and served as a pastor for 52 of those years. He invested labor and love in the founding of Union Baptist Church’s Family Camp. He enjoyed working in the
field, spending time with his family and friends sharing the gospel message of Our Lord and Savior.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Norma Chance Combs; two sons-in-law, Bobby Chance and Dr. Bewell Combs; grandson, Brent Chance;
three sisters, Ella Williams, Syllvella Gaskin and Liddy Addison; and seven brothers, Jesse, John, Orrin, Olen, Bill, Russel and Floyd Welch.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 73 years, Lovine Welch; granddaughters, Leah
Fanene, and Renee Neel and husband Jerry; grandchildren, Nicholas Copeland, Sarai Fanene, Ashley Fanene, Erin Wells and husband, Kerry, Brett Neel, Chance Neel and wife Amanda, and Matthew Chance; and great-grandchildren, Asher, Aiden, Hudson, Alayna
and Breckin.
