Doris Janella Brown Rowe, 76 of Hornbeck passed away on May 6, 2012 in
Leesville.
Services celebrating the life of Doris Rowe will be held at 10 a.m. on May 9 at Grace Assembly Church in Hornbeck with Revs. Melvin Hatten and James Langston officiating. Burial will follow in Prewitts Chapel Cemetery of
Hornbeck, under the direction of Heritage Rowe Funeral Home Leesville.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris Lynn Grimes and husband Doss, of Florien; and Johni Young of Hornbeck; nine grandchildren, Richard Rogers and wife Charlotte,
Christy Rogers Buxton, Jodi Welch and husband George; Jami Rogers; Melinda Cardenas Owens, Amanda Cardenas-Odom and husband Andrew, Jeremy Rowe and wife Shannon and Eva Rowe and David Grimes. She is also survived by 25 great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sisters, Joyce Barnes and husband Mac, and Evon Moore and husband John; and many nieces and nephews.
The family has requested that friends visit from 10 a.m. on May 8 until the time of
service on Wednesday at Grace Assembly Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years. Walter (Bob) Rowe; sons, Robert (Bobby) Rogers and James (Jimmy) Rowe; daughter in law, Linda Rowe; brothers, J.W. (Dub) and Dalton Brown;
sisters, Avis Koonce and Beatrice Brown; and parents, Elmer and Mamie Brown.
Mrs. Rowe owned the Heritage Rowe Funeral Home in Leesville. She was a long standing member of Grace Assembly Church of Hornbeck. She enjoyed fishing with her
friends and family, cooking and gardening.
