Ruby Smith

Funeral services for Ruby Smith, 80, of Anacoco will be held at 10 a.m. on
April 19 at Labby Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Gil Arthur officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. on April 18 and
from 8 a.m. until the time of service on April 19 at the funeral home.
Ruby, the daughter of W.R. and Cora May McKeithen Childers, was born on June 16, 1931, in Fondale. She passed away on April 16, in Leesville.
Mrs. Smith
worked for South Central Bell Telephone Operator. After retirement from South Central Bell she returned to school to earn a degree in nursing. After becoming an LPN she worked for Kurthwood Manor Nursing Home in Leesville.
She was preceded
in death by her husband J.L. “Red” Smith and son, J.L. Smith, Jr.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Wayne Smith of New Bedford, Mass. and Sherman David Smith of Annapolis, Md,; daughters, Linda Sue Williamson of Westlake and Fredia
Smith Nelson of Anacoco; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
