Donald Samuel Goodwin

Funeral services for Donald Samuel Goodwin, 73, of Hicks, will be held at noon on March 20 at Laurel Hill Baptist Church in LaCamp with Revs. Sherman Busby and Dale Poe officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Hill Cemetery. Services
are under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of service on March 19 at the church.
Mr. Goodwin, the son of Neal Franklin and Cassie Kirkpatrick Goodwin,
was born July 29, 1938. He passed away on March 17, 2012, at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of the Hicks community. He was a heavy equipment operator for the Vernon Parish Police Jury. A hard worker, he loved to hunt and fish in his spare
time, and he loved being a daddy and grandfather. Mr. Goodwin was a member of Flactor Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lucy Goodwin; four sons, James Goodwin of Marksville, Norman Goodwin and his wife, Mimi, of
Hicks, Phillip Goodwin and his wife, Dicey, of Pitkin, and Terry Goodwin of Hicks. He is also survived by six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one sister, Melba Maddox of Hicks.
Mr. Goodwin was preceded in death by his parents; a
son, Terry Wayne Goodwin; a sister, Mavis Martin and a brother, Frank Goodwin.
