Funeral services for Joyce Dale Simmons, 60 of Evans will be held at 2:30
p.m. on March 11 in the Evans Congregational Methodist Church in Evans. Rev. Melvin Smith and Donnie Lewing will officiate. Burial will follow in the Evans Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. on March 10 until the time of service on March 11 in the church.
Joyce, the daughter of Woodrow and Lillie Alma Smith, was born on May 30, 1951 in DeRidder and was a lifelong resident of the Evans
community. She passed away on March 9, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Jerome Simmons.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Simmons of Evans; one son, Joel Simmons of Evans;
one daughter, J.J. Minion of Evans; two brothers, Marvin Smith and Gene Smith both of Evans; three grandchildren, Caleb Minion, Lillie Minion and Hunter Minion, all of Evans; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
