ROBERT LEE ‘BOBBY’ POTEET

Funeral services for
Robert Lee “Bobby” Poteet, 59, of Florien will be held at 3 p.m. on Feb. 27 at Toledo Bend Church of Christ with Bro. James Tidwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Pisgah Cemetery in the Toro Community under the direction of Labby Memorial
Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. on Feb. 26 at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until the time of service in the church.
Robert, the son of Robert Wayne and Joy Lee Poteet, was born on May 13,
1952 in Odessa, Texas. He passed away on Feb. 24, 2012 in Pineville.
Mr. Poteet had lived in the Toledo Bend/Sabine Parish area since the mid 1980s. He was an avid fisherman. He was a history buff and loved watching the History Channel and
Fox News. He was an honest Christian man who owned his own business and was very considerate to his employees. Mr. Poteet never met a stranger and loved helping out his neighbors. He has built many docks and boat houses. He was also a loving and
dedicated son and caregiver for his mother, Joy. In essence he was a person that many people counted on for many things, and will be missed by all who loved him.
Mr. Poteet is survived by his wife of 16 years, Kathlyn “Carol” Poteet of
Florien; one daughter, Symone Marie Poteet of New Orleans; sister and brother-in-law, Karen Renee Bumpus and Matias Bosquez of Huntington, Texas; mother, Joy Lee Poteet of Lufkin, Texas; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rene Rose and Lonnie Emile
Pardue of Leesville; cousin, David Earl Poteet of Florien; uncle: Alton Marvin Poteet of Zwolle; Mrs. Poteet’s children, Debora Renee Cutts of Tabernacle, N.J., Debbra Lavern Lynch of Wilmington, Del., David Lester Carson of St. Robert, Mo., Darren
William Carson of Buckhorn, Mo. and Daniel Christopher Carson of Crocker, Mo.; 18 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
