Virniel Walker Jr., 52, a native of Leesville and resident of Thibodaux,
died on Feb. 12, 2012. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until noon on Feb. 17 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Gray. The religious service will be held at noon on Feb. 17 at the church with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by
his wife, Mary Walker of Thibodaux; one son, Jerry Williams IV of Zwolle; three daughters, Nefretiri Holden of North Richland Hills, Texas, Christina West Moore and husband Frank of Leesville and Celestine Singleton of Thibodaux; two brothers, Dunkin
Walker of Hawaii and Thermal Hunter of Thibodaux; and four sisters, Collar Wilson of Leesville, Jerlean Walker of Forman, Ark., Jacqulene Boyd of Texarkana and Doris Walker of Ashdown, Ark. He also has 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by
his parents, Virniel and Caldonia Walker; one sister, Belinda Thomas and grandparents, Sue Curry Jefferson, Andrew Jefferson, Mary Newsome and Junior Walker. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
