Services for Annie Laura Loftin Gibson, 95 will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Feb. 13 at First Baptist Church, West Chapel in Minden. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Feb. 14 at the Silver Creek Baptist Cemetery near Leesville.
Officiating will be Pastor Leland Crawford and Rev. Sammy Morrow.
Laura Gibson had deep roots in Vernon Parish and lived most of her days on land that was homesteaded by her family. She was a member of East Leesville Baptist Church until
she moved to Minden in 2008 to be near to immediate family members. In Minden, she joined First Baptist Church where she was lovingly embraced by it’s membership and quickly felt at home.
She is survived by Noah Clifton Gibson and wife
Marcia of Reston, Va. and G. Kent Gibson and wife Debbie of Minden. Mrs. Gibson has four granddaughters, Priscilla Kathleen Trimble and husband Patrick of Reston, Va., Cecilia Anne Walls and husband Gene of Vienna, Va., Lana Gibson and sweetheart
Kyle Burroughs and Jill Whitney and husband John of Bossier City; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Floyce Harren; nieces, Voncil Stephens and husband Pete, and Rhonda Vanover; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Laura was preceded in death
by her husband, Noah C. Gibson of Laurel, Miss.
Laura Gibson cared not for the things of this world. Her greatest desire was to set a Christ-like example in all that she did and to make new friends along the way. She will be remembered for
her quick wit and spunk and good attitude in all circumstances.
Pallbearers will be Charles G. Stoma, S. Keith Stoma, Roy B. Loftin, Jr., Pete Stephens, Radell Stephens and John A. Whitney.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on
Feb. 12 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Gideon’s International or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family would also like to express their endless gratitude to the
excellent, loving care given to Laura by Ms. Cindy Hollingshead.
