Funeral services for Milton Douglas Wood, 62, of Leesville were held at 1
p.m. on Jan. 10 at St. Paul Baptist Church Inc., in Leesville with Rev. Lawrence C. Williams officiating. Burial followed in the Leesville Memorial Cemetery in Leesville under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Jan. 10 at the church.
Milton, the son of Orland Beal and Mattie Beatrice Woods Wood, was born on June 15, 1949, in Leesville. He passed away on Jan. 3, 2012, at his
residence in Leesville. Mr. Wood worked for the U.S. Postal System for 20 years. He was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church Inc.
He is survived by his daughters, Marnissa “Niecy” Wilson of Berkeley, Calif. and Tarcha Regina Tyson of
Washington, D C; brothers, Huey Cecil Wood, Sr. and Edward Bruce Wood, both of Hinesville, Ga., and Matthew Wood of Leesville; sisters, Geraldine Hollins and Mavis Wood of Arkansas City, Kan., Julia L. King of Leesville, and Nora Carter of
Hinesville, Ga.; and four grandchildren.
