Robert Lockhart Gage Sr.

Mr. Robert Lockhart Gage, Sr., 75, of Navarre, Fla., was born on Sept. 16,
1936 in Manila, Philippines. He entered eternal rest on Jan. 8, 2012. He was the son of Harrison Mahan Gage and Victoria Del Rosario Gage and the brother to Harrison Mahan Gage II. He graduated from San Beda College in Manila, Philippines and married
Bodil P. Jemtegard on June 29, 1962 in Nordal, Norway. He served in Korea and also the Vietnam War with the 82nd Airborne from 1968-1969. He retired as a master sergeant in the U.S. Army and also worked in federal civil service at Fort Polk. He was
awarded the Bronze Star, Army Commendation and other meritorious medals.
He enjoyed cooking for others, especially making his famous cinnamon raisin bread, and making Filipino dishes. He loved woodworking, especially making furniture for
his children. He also loved working in his garden. He was an avid fisherman and took every opportunity to be out on the water.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 50 years, Bodil P. Jemtegard Gage of Navarre, Fla.; two daughters,
Vicky Gage-Bernheimer and husband Paul Bernheimer with their children Alexandra and Paul Jr. of Chicago and Brigit Gage-Kerry and husband Gerald Kerry with their daughter Meghan of Abita Springs; one son, Robert Gage, Jr. and wife Sue (Woodward) Gage
with their daughters Abigail, Shelby, and Olivia of Cabot, Ark.; two brother-in-laws, Per Jemtegard and Odd Jemtegard of Valldal, Norway; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He
will be cremated by Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Panama City, Fla. and a memorial ceremony will be scheduled in the spring.
