William R. Smith, 81, of Leesville, passed away Dec. 22, 2011 in
Alexandria.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. Smith at 3:30 p.m., Monday Dec. 26, 2011 at St. Michaels Catholic Church Leesville with Father Kenneth Michiels officiating. Burial will follow in Heritage Rowe Memorial Cemetery
under the direction of Heritage Rowe Funeral Home.
William Smith lived a full and wonderful life. He and his wife of 25 years, Joan, loved being outdoors. William spent most of his time planting and creating outdoor masterpieces. He loved
planting flowers and enjoyed watching them bloom year after year. He created an outdoor paradise for everyone to enjoy. He was a master bricklayer and built many monuments and creations to marvel at. He is now in Heaven sowing seeds forever…..

Mr. Smith is also survived by his children, Deborah Jesperson, Karen Alsept (Herbert), Suzanne Hejl (Jerry), Debbie Dunn, Wendy Winkler (Grady), John Knight (Mandy), Richard Smith (Beryl), Clifford Smith (Astrid); 21 grandchildren and 4
great-grandchildren.
