Funeral services for Henry R.”Russ” Ward, 68, of New Llano, will be held at
1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Father Anthony Catella officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Hicks, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 4-9 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at the funeral home.
Henry, the son of John W. and Martha Henly Ward, was born on January 20, 1943, in Washington, D.C. He passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at his
residence in New Llano. He was a graduate of VCU in Richmond, Va. and graduated with a master’s in counseling and criminal justice at NSU in Natchitoches. Mr. Ward loved to draw and could do wonders with a pencil. He loved to dance, help people and
work with children.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Ward of New Llano; daughter, Angela Brooks of Denham Springs; brothers, Buck Ward and Richard Ward, both of Richmond, Va.; sister,
Judy Ward of Richmond, Va.; two grandchildren, Randy and Katie Brooks; and one great grandchild, Mason Lee Howell.
