Douglas Gordy 68 of Leesville, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 23, 2011.
He was born in Leesville, on March 28, 1943, to Frank and Camille Nelson Gordy.
Mr. Gordy was a life-long resident of Vernon Parish and a
member of South Park Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and fish and just being in the great outdoors. He was a person who loved to just sit and visit with all; no one was a stranger. He will be missed by those who knew him.
He was preceded
in death by his parents: Frank Gordy and Camille Nelson Gordy, brothers-in-law, Ray Bennett and Jesse “Sonny” Price.
He is survived by his loving wife Martha A. Gordy of Leesville; daughter, Helen C. Gordy; sisters, Virginia Bennett of
Leesville, Marjorie Price-Spartin and husband Robert of Slagle, Carolyn Beebe and husband Barry of Lena, Linda Powell and husband Herbert of Richmond, Ken.; niece and best friend Michelle Price Mitchell; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5-10 p.m., Monday, Dec. 26, 2011 at Hixson Funeral Home in Leesville. Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011 at Hicks Pentecostal Church, Hicks. Rev. Lorraine Smith will be officiating. Burial will
follow in Hicks Cemetery in Hicks under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville.
