Funeral services for Verna Faye Brown Chance, 78, of Hornbeck, will be held
at 11 a.m. Nov. 26 at Prewitts’ Chapel Baptist Church in Hornbeck with Rev. Huey Haymon officiating. Burial will follow in the Prewitts’ Chapel Cemetery in Hornbeck. Visitaiton will begin at 2 p.m. on Nov. 25 at Prewitts’ Chapel Baptist Church in
Hornbeck.
Verna Faye Brown Chance was born on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 1933 in Vernon Parish. She passed away on Monday, Nov. 21, 2011 at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray J. Brown;
parents, Ivy Leon Sneed and Trudie Edna Avis Dowden; one brother, Buddy Sneed; one stepson, Joe Chance; and one grandchild, Steven Jett.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence (C.V.) Chance of Many; one daughter, Sharolette Brown Jett
Henson of Hornbeck; one son, Randell Ray Brown of Shreveport; three stepdaughters, Colleen Hilton and husband Dewayne of Anacoco, Pam Johnson and husband Gary of Montgomery, Ala., and Sam Harlan of Dallas; two stepsons, Eddie Chance of Austin, Texas
and Bobby Chance of Spring, Texas; two sisters, Floy Mae Byrd of Lake Charles, and Lenell Perkins and husband Tommy of Anacoco; one brother in law, Rev. Mickey Chance of Bossier City; one granddaughter, April Jett Volpe; two great granddaughters,
Emily Volpe and Kristin Jett; step grandchildren, Misty, Cole, Holly, Jordan, Tiffany, Hunter, Aaron, Ashley, Kandice, Chance and Kayln; step great grandchildren, Bailey, Samantha, Bridget and Malachi; along with a host of friends.
