Sudie M. Strickland

Funeral services for Sudie M. Strickland, 85, of Anacoco, will be held at
11 a.m. Nov. 23, at Good Hope Baptist Church in Anacoco with Rev. Huey Haymon and Rev. Wallace Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery in Anacoco under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. Nov. 22 until the time of service Wednesday at the church.
Sudie, the daughter of Coke Pierce and Edie Almedia Addison McElveen, was born on March 10, 1926, in Vernon Parish. She passed away on Sunday,
Nov. 20, 2011, at her residence in Anacoco. Mrs. Strickland was a lifelong resident of Vernon Parish. She was a homemaker, a former WMU member and member of Good Hope Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband,
Robert Strickland; and son, Michael Strickland.
She is survived by her sons, Billy P. Strickland and wife, Linda, Danny Ray Strickland and wife Karen, and Kenneth “Kenny” Strickland and wife Kelli, all of Anacoco; daughters, Ruby S.
Addison and husband, Ray, Martha Adams and husband Joe, Libby Owen and husband Joseph, and Joann Dixon and husband Cullen, all of Anacoco; sisters, Lovine Welch and husband Rev. Clarence Welch and Melba Smith and husband Earl, all of Anacoco; 16
grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
