Steve Stewart Gibson

Steven “Hoot” Stewart Gibson, 55, of Slagle, passed away Oct. 15,
2011.
He was extremely loved and will be deeply missed by many.
Steven retired after 20 years of service in the U.S. Army. A Desert Storm veteran, he was employed by civil service with the Environmental Division of the
Directorate of Public Works, Fort Polk. He was an active member in the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association and the American Legion Riders Post 387. He was also co-founder of the Leroy Skillet Band with whom he played throughout Louisiana and
Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary Frances Gibson, of Leesville; his children, Andrew and Jennifer Gibson Lohrke; Christopher and Eddwina Drake Gibson; and Scott Gibson; grandsons, Corbin Stewart Haymon and Cole William
Lohrke; parents, Rita and Bill Marcolongo of Philadelphia, Pa.; and Linda Gibson of Mt. Laurel, N.J.; sisters, Jeanne Palmer and Jon Werner of Bensalem, Pa.; Marie and Joseph Johnston, of Philadelphia, Pa.; and the the best dog anyone could ask for –
Lord Beauregard, Sire of Slagle.
He was predeceased by his father Roland “Hoot” Stewart Gibson.
A service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Retired American Legion Post 387, New Llano.
