Graveside services for Gene “Hawk” Chance, 75, of Hornbeck will be held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 18 at Prewitt’s Chapel Cemetery in Hornbeck with Bro. Wayne Chance officiating.
Gene, the son of Albert and Audrey Hilton Chance was
born on Nov. 17, 1935 in Plainview. He passed away on Oct. 16 at his residence in Hornbeck. Mr. Chance loved God and his country. He served in the United States Navy. He was a family man who loved to laugh and spend time with his family. He also
loved to garden.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Chance and sister, Ann Smart.
He is survived by his step-son, Steve Montel and wife Arlene of Fresno, Calif.; siblings, Walter S. Chance and wife Vicki of Hornbeck,
Nathaniel Chance and wife Paula of Bossier, Doris Knippers of Hornbeck, Theresa Nicks and husband Bruce of Hornbeck, Eula Durrett and husband David of Hornbeck, and Sharon Mason and husband Larry of Hornbeck; special friend, David Elmer of Dunlap,
Calif; special aunt, Joyce Chance of Many; and a host of nieces and nephews.
