Funeral services for Judith Ellen Burns, 71, will be held at Airline
Baptist Church on Oct. 15 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Harrell Shelton, associate pastor and Rev. Chad Mills, senior pastor at Airline Baptist Church. Interment will be at 4 p.m. at Castor Cemetery near Leesville. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m.
Oct. 14 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City.
Judith Ellen was born on May 9, 1940 in Portsmouth and passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 12, 2011, at Promise Hospital in Bossier City. Judith and Billy John Burns were married on
Thursday, Dec. 22, 1960 at Silver Creek Baptist Church in Leesville. This holy union was dedicated to raising a Christian family and serving God in every facet of their lives. Even in death Judy’s Christian endeavors will continue to reap a harvest
for Christ.
Judy was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Coriell; mother, Louise Coriell; stepmother, C.T. Coriell and older brother, Robert Coriell.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Billy John Burns;
daughter, Cheryl Prang of Las Vegas and Donna Robinson of Shreveport; brother, Stephen Coriell and his wife Carolyn and a host of other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Billy John
and Judith Burns Scholarship Fund, Northwestern State University Foundation, Alumni Center, Attention Jill Bankston, Natchitoches, LA 71497.
The Burns family will always thank Jesus Christ and the many relatives and friends for their
